Must be a bad season for gelcoat...
Can anybody provide input as to what is happening here. The boat is a 21-foot cuddy. The white material (gelcoat? paint?) is chipping in some places. This material starts at the junction with the blue, on the underside of that bumpout. It is very thin in this area- feathered down in thickeness so it met with the rest of the hull smoothly. It increases in thickness further down the hull- probably about the thickness of a dime at it's thickest.
Underneath the white is a thin layer of blue, then fiberglass- I know this because there's a few chips in it.
