Anyone ever tried an Anti-Fouling Wax product? I want to keep our 19' Wellcraft on a jet dock but it looks like I won't have the jet dock this season. I really don't want to paint the bottom so someone suggested using an anti-fouling wax. I never heard of that.... anyone have any experience with the stuff???

I know aurora has something like you describe. I don't know if it is good for an entire season or not.

I have used the Aurora product. All you are doing with that is postponing the inevitable by a couple of weeks. Really not worth the hard work to get it on. Though it does make the dirt come off easier.

Mike, I've also seen some people apply regualar wax to the bottom and not buff it off. Some say it works?????

MikeeH, many years ago I use to use a very viscous (like creamy peanut butter) AF wax that I bought at K-Mart. I only used it on my trim tabs & it worked very well. K-Mart stopped carrying it & I couldn't find it again. I realize this is no real help but just to advise you, such an animal existed at one time & may still be available somewhere.

I used the Aurora VS 721 bottom wax. Cleaned the hull, per there instructions, and applied two coats of VS 721.

Launched the boat in late April, pulled the boat in early July, had to have bottom painted with anti-fouling paint. Not too happy, given the amount of time it took to prep the bottom and to apply two coats of wax.

I've used several of their other products-with good results. Forget the VS 721.
