WE are definitely going. We had a great time last year in Hemlock Cove. Dave, you should try it this year. Don't make pre-judgments until you've tried it. Hope to see you and Ginny on Sunday!

Hello Long Island!
Thank you all in advance for the tremendous number of Aquapalooza registrations. I hope everyone is as excited as we are about this year’s Aquapalooza in Zach’s Bay!
To give you an example of what we’re expecting this year, allow me to give you some facts and figures:

The following items will help you throughout the day:
VHF
The MarineMax team will be monitoring VHF Channel 69 and will be directing the raft up via this channel.
Start and End Time
The event officially begins at 12:00 p.m. It is scheduled to run until 4:00 p.m.
Staying Later than 4 p.m.
If you would like to stay after 4 p.m. please let us know. More than likely we will be directing you to secondary raft ups consisting of boats that will remain after the event concludes. Please inform the MarineMax staff as you are rafting via Channel 69.
Rafting
Safety is our number one concern. Because of the number of boats that will be joining us this year, unsafe boat operating will not be tolerated. Please be patient with the MarineMax staff as you are lining up for the raft up. Any delays you experience prior to rafting will be the result of our team safely securing other participants’ vessels and preparing for the entry of your boat.
Set your lines and fenders. Please have all your fenders set upon entering Zach’s Bay and be prepared to throw your lines to MarineMax staff so they can secure your boat quickly and efficiently. Bring extra lines, fenders, and anchors if you’ve got them.
The area chosen for the raft up will be based on wind direction which will be determined on Sunday morning. We will set up the boat with the DJ and then we will set our first anchor boat directly across from the DJ boat to begin the raft up. In order to properly anchor the raft up, we are requesting boats 36’ and larger to arrive at Zach’s Bay around 11 a.m. Smaller boats will flank the larger boats to create a nice, even raft up. Again, this will be coordinated by the MarineMax team monitoring Channel 69.
Entering Zach’s Bay
Enter Zach’s Bay using the WEST entrance and upon entering, head west toward the Jones Beach theater. Note: when you first enter Zach’s Bay through the WEST entrance, you will see an old pole that most people think is a marker. It is important to keep yourself between the pole and the marsh as the water is very shallow on either side. If you are unfamiliar with Zach’s Bay, wait for additional traffic and follow someone in.
Registrants
For those who registered for Aquapalooza prior to July 12, you are entitled to two Aquapalooza t-shirts. The MarineMax team will be visiting the rafted boats and delivering these shirts starting round noon.
Music & Raft City
We will kick off Aquapalooza with some announcements around noon and then we would like to do a countdown with everyone hitting their horns. From there, the DJ will begin spinning music.
We will be creating a raft city, representing five huge inflatable islands as well as other rafts, attached to the DJ boat. You may have to swim or paddle over to it, but you are welcome to hang out and enjoy the nice weather and cool tunes from this vantage point. Please keep the rafts together so that everyone has an opportunity to experience our little on-water city. If you’ve got rafts of your own, feel free to come over and hook up with us.

Around 2 p.m., a helicopter will fly over Zach’s Bay to photograph what we believe is the country’s largest Aquapalooza event. We would love it if everyone would wave to the cameraman inside the helicopter. Stand on the bows of your boats or wave from your rafts or whatever – just show your pearly whites and a super wave and maybe we’ll end up on the front cover or inside spread of Sea Ray Living or MarineMax Lifestyles or other marine publications.
Have Fun
Most importantly, let’s have a good time on the water. We have our health and our families and friends. Let’s use this day to celebrate!

We'll bring 3 kegs of beer, red wine, grey goose, cranberry....oh and crab cakes, burgers, hotdogs, chips......anything else we might have forgotten??? Oh yeah! and the "KARAOKE"....almost had Walter and Dave sing last weekend....guess we didn't bring enough "alcohol".

Very Nice Party.......
Was there today and had a great time. I have seen many posts that bitch about Surfside, but you have too give them the thumbs up on how they give party's. Plus, I am a outsider, don't own a Marine Max product, but they treated us all the same.
Wish Marine Max/ Surfside the best of luck, wish all the other dealers did the same. You may complain on how this dealership does things, and the cost, but you know what? They are the only ones that give something back.

I took a bunch of pics, and will try to post them tomorrow.
It was a great event. I had great ringside seats (safely anchored) to watch the first flotilla make it into Zach's Bay. It was almost bumper boats as they all tried to get lined up for the rafting. Quite funny.
