Now they are talking about a third storm that may hit us! Enough already. Don't forget, there is no global warming, this is just the normal weather patterns. All I know is someone must have really upset the weather gods.

Just checked the 10 day forecast and see nothing but showers. I will be heading home from Shanghai on Wednesday. Please don't tell me I will be eating chicken feet for Thanksgiving.

It could be Dan. :) They started talking about it last night on the news. Same European computer that predicted Sandy and Noreaster. Sure would be nice if the weatherman would go back to the old days and be wrong all the time again.

Lol yes what happened to the good days when they couldn't predict the weather? I have already had family call and say they may not make it for Thanksgiving and it's over a week away.

In five weeks, the days start getting longer!

Nah, piece of cake.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Key West, Aruba, Charlotte, boat cover off, back in water!!!

Butch, we are definitely being tested. I received a West Marine Christmas catalog in the mail today. I can only imagine how boater's who lost their vessels will feel when they open the mailbox. While my boat was miraculously spared from this tempest, I was still stunned and saddened by seeing the catalog. While I don't think West Marine was doing this in bad taste, as they are a national supplier to the boating community, it was still surreal

I hope your right Mike. There's so much damage at all these marinas. And I feel really
horrible for all the people who lost their homes down there. Tonight I saw a car pulled over and
a women putting some of the damaged furniture from one of the houses in her car. I know
was put out there cause the owner was throwing it away, but it still kind of bothered me to see that.
Kind of heartless and inappropriate I thought. Just rubbed me the wrong way

Look on the other side. Perhaps what was being tossed out was better then she had. Maybe she lost everything.

Yeah, maybe. I'm not sure why it bothered me so much but
it really did. I feel awful for those people. I spend so much time
by the river and see them out and about, say hello, chit chat sometimes so I know
how much they love living there. I hope everything works out for them somehow.

On my block most of the contents of people's first floors ended up out on the street for trash. On Wednesday this week the town was picking it all up and it literally took a full day with a big pay loader and dump trucks to haul it all away, just for my block. Some of the stuff I put out got taken away within hours by people collecting stuff, mostly for scrap I think - a refrigerator, a freezer, hot water heater, chairs, metal cabinets, etc. At times the stuff was gone before I got back with the next batch. I thought it was funny actually and as far as I'm concerned if someone could use it or get some sort of scrap value for it better that then end up in the dump. One of my neighbors on the other hand saw the same thing on the weekend and he blew a gasket and cursed the people out, screaming how inappropriate it is to be picking through people's stuff until he chased them off. I didn't really understand his reaction but I guess everyone sees it differently.

Hey John! How the hell are you guys!!

Honestly I don't even know why it bothered me, can't really explain it. I guess maybe because usually when people put stuff out for pickup they consider it garbage that they no longer want. But I'm sure much of the stuff they put out they loved but could no longer keep because it was damaged so they were really not parting with it willingly. Then to see someone else take it just seems to rub salt in the wound.

Just really bugged me seeing one person capitalizing on anothers loss. Personally, I just couldn't do it.

I can get a mental image of you laughing at them taking your stuff though! And making me LOL!!
