Ball Point Pen on White Vinyl Seats

Geez... Got on a client boat and found blue ball point pen marks on the helm seat. Any ideas on how to get this out?

Tried the Hairspray thing... didn't work. WD40, which there is a large supply on board, is next and a good solid bleach after that.

If all else fails, sunshine and time will do the trick.

Cover area with clean cloth - soak with hydrogen peroxide. Let it sit awhile.

Clorox Bleach Pen Gel - get it in the laundry aisle at the local grocery store. Put the gel where the stain is, let sit a while, clean up with clean fresh H20,. When stain is gone use vinyl cleaner,/dressing. Avoid contact of the gel with any stitching.

Yep, had the same problem on my boat. Tried all sorts of stuff. Nothing took them all the way out. But when I looked for the marks two months later they'd faded from sun exposure. I had decent luck with the bleach pen. Whatever you use be SURE not to leave it on there for any extended period of time. Otherwise you risk breaking down the vinyl. And don't even THINK about getting near it with acetone or any similarly harsh solvents.

If you're not sure, put a mark on an underside of a seat and try cleaning that first. Better to test it in an out of the way place first.

Recently at a boat factory and thy suggested using rubbing alcohol.And apparently they come in different concentrations,the higher alcohol concentration the better.I havent tried it ,so who knows for sure.

Thanks Folks. Tomorrow I'm going to try the cleaning pen and also the alcohol if the pen doesn't work and see what happens. My cleaning guy.. you know, the one that knows how to clean everything

went by today and said he tried everything.... probably knot. I'll post when I find something. This was Blue ink BTW.

Try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Test area first. It took scuff marks out of my vinyl seats.
