Looking for 12V, deep cycle, 100(or more) AH AGM batteries.Came across the UPG (Universal Battery Group)company. Their UB12110-45824 looks good on line, but have never heard of them before.
Anyone here have any experience with this manufacturer? Thanks,
Ron

Yeah Bill, name is right-I never heard of them either during over 30 years of buying marine batteries. Looked at the link. Found this at "BatteryStuff.com". I believe they're made in China. Guess I'll be sticking with one of the good old USA standbys-Trojan, Interstate etc.
Thanks for the reply

Hard to beat the Sears Platinum AGMs at that amp hour rating. Made by Enersys/Odyssey.

I got caught up in the Sears/Exide controversy.
What I learned: It's hard to beat Sears on any Battery product.

Thanks Guys-Hadn't checked Sears. That will be next stop.
Ron

The last time I went to Sears for a battery, their "Battery Expert" said "What's an 8D"? "What kind of car is it?".

Walked out.

I swear by the sears platinum agms . Have 8 of them

Who cares about the guy in the store? He doesn't make the batteries in the back room or anywhere else. Really Dan, he doesn't.

Yeah but often the computer won't give them the part # unless you give it the vehicle, year, etc etc etc. Without the part number the guy would never find it even if he had to step over it. So many people don't THINK any more.

I've found as long as I have the dimensions of the battery I need or the box it needs to fit in getting them to find the right battery is easy.

I think Interstate (or their parent company) make the batteries for Sears.

Interstate is not a manufacturer. They re-market batteries made by Johnson Controls, East Penn, US Battery and a few others.

I have had EXCELLENT service & life using Delco Voyager batteries. Been using DC31 but I believe they stopped making that unit for some reason. Went to the M29MF; sealed, maintenance free.
Highly recommended !

Thought so. I also seem to remember that there are only like two battery manufacturers in the country that make them for everyone.

East Penn and Johnson are the two big ones, but there are a variety of specialists like Dyno, US Battery, Trojan, etc if you look at the convoluted guide I posted, which covers the world, not just the US, making it harder to sort out. But once you learn how, it is pretty handy when comparing brands and pricing.

Even then, the quality within a given manufacturer is going to vary depending on the end label.

Almost anything AGM that meets your AH requirements would be a good choice.
I used Lifeline but there are now less expensive alternatives.
