Blaster said don't blast it

Hard to believe a soda/sand blaster said not to blast my bottom now. he claims Carvers usually have blisters and to open them now would kill my summer. Wait until haulout, blast it and let it dry over the winter(frozen?) I've never seen a blister on my near naked bottom so mine may be the exception. Sounds like a good thing to wait on though even as much as I'd like the job done for this season. Sound right?
