How hard is BM / PP to apply by hand? I'm in a covered slip, so no direct sun. I know someone will chime in, "why do you want to do it by hand?" Don't want to shell out the $50.00 for a rotary buffer PLUS I'll get those fabulous Popeye arms when (and if) I finish.

Not hard to apply, but if your gel is in need of Buff Magic, you won't get the results you would if you use a machine. I always apply and remove Pro Polish by hand, but that's after the gel is super smooth and clean from the Buff Magic.

Using BM without a proper machine is like using a pipe wrench to remove a 1/2" nut. Sure it can be done but the job will be buggered up!

The gelcoat feels reasonably smooth to the touch and has minor oxidation. Still STRONGLY recommend a machine for the BM?
Thanks,
AJ

You have to use a machine for Buff Magic if you are doing any sizable area. If the spot is small you can get away with hand application but the machine is really where this product shines

Boatfix sells it, yes. Cheapest price too.

You're wasting money, time and product if you put Buff Magic on by hand. Easy enough to do side by side comparison of small areas with each.

I dod BM by hand prior to last season, and everyone is right, you get no benefit -- you really can't buff it out properly. Now for a simple scratch or mar, yeah, maybe you can. This year I spent the $50 or so and did the buffer -- MUCH better outcome!

4 out of 4 experts surveyed said "use a buffer for BUFF magic..." Thanks to all, I hope this stuff is as good as advertised!

Would you use BM on a fairly new boat?
I was thinking of using it on my 2007.

Shouldn't need to Dave unless you are already oxidized. If it is, I'd use it.

Its not oxidized, but it has lost alot of its shine.
Probably just needs a good waxing but I was impressed with Walter's outcome with Bm/PP and his boat was not oxidized.

You guys should take a look at Rejex. I've started to experiment with mixing PP and Rejex together. I'll know the results in a few weeks.
