Has anyone had their bolsters re-done or re-upholstered? The ones on my 2900 Open are showing their age and I wonder how to best find someone for the job, especially in my area where they're not as common - most boats around here are typical express cruisers or aft cabin MYs.

I had mine done a few years ago. Took them to an upholstery shop, picked the white vinyl from samples . They came out just like the originals.

I have mine redone every few/several years as all the fishing activity takes a bit of a toll on them. If the backing happens to be (wet) plywood I suggest using that as a template for replacements fashioned out of PVC trim board like the Azek I used while they are removed from the boat. Waterproof PVC should last forever or the life of your boat, whichever comes 1st.

Any canvas shop can do this. It is not rocket science - I do them myself.

Standard job for a marine upholstery shop.

Auto interior shops can do it as well. The only thing to be aware of if it is not a marine shop is that they need to use marine or outdoor thread.

Also insist on marine grade vinyl. It has add'l fungicide in formula to prevent pink staining & fungus growth. 23 years in the vinyl business.

Did you call Tiara? Sometimes the factory can be cheaper then remaking what you have.

Good point. The manufacture has the pattern. Whether they will make it for an older boat is another question. When I replaced my cockpit cover I got it from the original OEM and it was less than 1/2 the price of getting one made locally. It was identical to the original; just a matter of installing the snaps to match the existing studs.
