They had them out here by mid-November. They'll probably wait till Rob launches his boat again and then pull them for maintenance!

Rob, does it shoal up much by you, if not then would'nt your saved track work as well? Or are the buoys a real nav aid because it is very narrow. I have never been west of the Amityville cut on the north side, always south State Ch heading west.

Rob at least you can see what they do to the buoys if you watch Dirty Jobs tonight. Thats one of the jobs he's doing tonight.
 
Louis... Nassau county buoys barely float..... They havent been serivced in years... they pull them for job security... have to make it look there doing something....

Id love to know who they answer too.... that another well hidden secret ... u call the different town divisons its like a giant game of FU..... I even had my local politcal guy get involved... Dave Denenburg. GREAT GUY .... TOH told him to stick it in his Butt... He sent me there reply letter to him... They said " he is out of his jurisdiction " and they dont answer to him....

NICE ....... ok so now my blood pressure is tru the freaking roof.....

Brad cutting tru the marsh with only a 20' channel there is no room for error ... so i wait for high tide and I go the long way by wantagh park. sucks......

Before you know it, the buoys will be back, it will be hot out and people will be sweating their a$$es$ off screaming for the AC guy.
 
I am currently trying to do something with the buoys located within the Great South Bay. You guys are correct saying it could take forever trying to find out who is responsible for the buoys in any given area. There are towns, villages, state, counties and federal areas. I found when you call and ask about buoys, you are directed to parks departments, division of highways and any other place they could send your call just to get you from thier phone extension, to someone other then that person's extension. It did take me awhile but I finally found the person within the US Coast Guard that should be able to tell you who is responsible for what buoys. He works out of Moriches station, his name is Anthony Certa contact # 631-395-4400. It did take a number of calls before he returned my calls, but found him really knowledgeable and more important, honest with his feedback as far as what he feels could be accomplished.

I know the TOH # for the local buoys by me . They could give a flying crap as to when they get put in. Usually may.... Which is way late .... IT burns my tail that there is zero oversite...

And when u call they pretty up front telling u to go f urself....

Hey Rob, I bet the TOH has no problem making sure that anyone's money for their town slip is in on time or that the taxes are paid. When it comes to something for them they are right on top of it.
