I believe the actual date was January 8, 1906 and 19 lives were lost. These original pics were found in my fathers drawer.
 
There is no doubt that is Bowline! There are similar pictures a the Mall on the 4th floor at least there were, they may have been remove with the recent upgrades. Terrible tragedy but the one upside is the best anchorage came out of it!
 
There is also a museum on main street. No doubt, that is bowline. That was a great find Hank.
 
I wonder if insurance would cover that if it sunk your boat.

They have had stranger calls! I spoke to a claim agent one time and he told me a few but the one the sticks in my mind was a boat that knew they hit something go towed in and hauled only to find a complete lazy boy chair wrapped around their props imagine the surprise. I saw pictures after the storm that really blow my mind!

Bowline was a tragedy the took several lives if I'm not mistaken some were not recovered.
