I had my cockpit professionally cleaned. They did a great job cleaning off lots of grime and whathaveyou. Looked great. They then put on some kind of wash/wax and brushed it in and rinsed. Looked great. But it's a magnet for dirt. It already looks bad again. Is the paint porous due to being old? Is there anything to do short of repaining it to make it stay clean and easy to clean?

Thanks in advance.

I use Future Kitchen floor wax. Cheap, easy, and good.

I would save your money on the professional cleaning and do it yourself. For as quick as boats get dirty again after a wash, it's not worth paying someone to do it. Just my opnion.

I plan to do it myself in the future it's just that it was so dirty. I didn't pay for it actually, the yard threw it in after they did some other work on the boat. My issue is that the paint seems pourous or something at this point and it makes it extra hard to clean. It really needs to be painted but in the meantime...

Try using Starbrite Non-Skid Floor cleaner. Stuff works, cleans up nice.
