Hello All. I just got a canvas enclosure on my new/used boat. What should I use to clean the clear plastic?

Pledge furniture polish...It cleans and acts as a protectant...
Nice boat and welcome to BE...

Plexus is my favorite. If you use Pledge, use the unscented. If I do not use Plexus often enough, a microfiber towel and rubbing alcohol wipes the "cloudy" off and In put on a coat of Plexus.

You can find stuff made for cleaning your clear plastic at marine stores.

If it's Strataglass and not EisenGlass, I would only use Inmar products.
Strata usually feels thicker.

Clean with clear water and a mild soap like licquid Ivory. The use a polish made for plastic and vinyl. I only use Armada 210. It was made for aircraft windshields and works great on the vinyl windows. My routine is to bring all the vinyl home after winter lay-up. I hang it in the basement on a clothesline(never roll or stack without protection between the layers/pieces). Over the winter I bring them out one at a time and give them a good cleaning and polishing. Scratches are dealt with by using Armada 210 Cleaner and Scratch Remover. Then, during the season they can be cleaned with just clean water and dry with a clean soft towel.

The lemon flavored Pledge is bad for your plastic curtains.

Nice looking boat and welcome to BE! Are you new to boating or just new to this boat?

What Mikee said. 210 is the best and easiest cleaner/polish I've ever used. Do a google search on 21 or Sumner Products. You can order by phone from the manufacturer.

210 and dont let thoos roll up straps hang like that they will swing and scratch the vinyl.

I use Plexus great stuff. I started with it and I am staying with it. I agree about using a micro fiber cloth for wiping it off.

Pledge is great...IF...you can find the original. The oils keep the plasticizers flexible. The lemon stuff reacts differently. If you cant find it, Meguiar's 10 and 17 does wonders. Just takes a bit longer.

I just got done cleaning the exterior of Saint Max this evening. I used Malco Nano Wax to do the hull. I tried it on the eisenglass. Worked very well.

Welcome aboard. Nice boat.

I hear great things about Plexus. I've been using 303 on my "glass" for 5 years (365 days per year in the water) and it's still in great shape. But that's every 30 days for the 20 minute chore.

If you have Strataglass, the manufacturer strictly endorses Imar products. In fact, on new curtains, warrantee is void if any other product is used. That said, Plexus is also a very good product. Don't use either of these products until you have washed and dried your curtains first. Don't dry with a chamois, but instead, use a clean microfiber towel. (Just keep in mind that the curtains can scratch VERY easily if your cleaning materials are contaminated.)

Both Plexus and Imar products provide UV protection that furniture polishes do not, and are the way to go for longevity in addition to beauty.

Strataglass is just DP (Double Polished) clear with a coating to resist scratching. Most DP clear (Eisenglass) used for enclosures is either 30 mil or 40 mil. The .040 gauge is usually the preferred thickness.

Waynepj4, Haven't I seen this pic of your boat on the BOC web site? Welcome here. I just bought a 1989/3888. I use mild soap to was then after drying use 303 areo space protectant in blue bottle. Not cheap but can find at ACE and marine stores. Wipe on with a soft 100% cotton cloth. Polish to a shine. 303 products are recommended by Sunbrella for use on there products.
