Does anyone know the status/condition of Catskill Marina and Hop-o-Nose Marina? Planning on heading up river in August and would like to stay at either.

Hop-O-Nose is fully operational, the pool is open and the restaurant is in full swing. No fuel. Catskill Marina, while operational, is a shell of its former self. It is being managed by Hop-O-Nose. The pool is not open, there is no fuel or pump-out and the main building was torn down. There is a tent and some grills on the main property and the bathrooms/showers are open. It is still a nice place to tie up and the marina most convenient to town if you're not looking for other amenities. Riverview, closer to the mouth of the creek is fully operational with fuel, pump-out and clean restrooms. It is much more of a yard feeling than the other two.

If you're willing to travel an additional 16 nautical miles north, Donovan's Shady Harbor has become the destination marina of the upper Hudson (see Active Captain reviews). Beautiful spot, many new, excellent docks, pool, good restaurant and very friendly. Yes, it is on the river, but wakes are not much of a problem at all and certainly not enough of a reason not to check it out.

Such a shame what happened to Catskill Marina - Mother Nature finally won the battle there, with all those floods...

What are the future plans, if any for Catskill Marina? I love that place!

For the foreseeable future it will be run by Hop-O-Nose. The longtime owner of Catskill Marina is an older gentleman and Irene seems to have been the last straw for him. Hop-O-Nose already owns the docks in front of the townhouses which were always previously managed by Catskill Marina and run as one with the main facility. Unfortunately, after the very nice docks got wiped out by Irene, the new ones were built to a much lesser standard. A more permanent common structure is on the wish list for where the tent is from what I understand, but that could be a ways off. The pool sits empty and would require some funds to get up and running so that could be a while as well if it is repaired at all.
As I said previously, still a beautiful spot to tie up but with really no services to speak of, that's all it is and probably will remain for some time to come.

Good news! Catskill Marina is back up and running. Docks repaired, electric restored, pool operational, gas dock working. Pump out expected to be operational this weekend.

They did all this just for you? Wow that's great news one more place to consider.
