Going to be at Channel Club Marina for Labor Day weekend. Looking for local knowledge on the route to the Marina. I did not see any channel markers on the charts and it looks shallow on the chart. Any help would be great.

Also who has the cheapest Diesel in the area. If any one can advise of the prices also.

Thanks

River is marked, stay in the channel, it's very shallow outside of it.

We are trying to get in Labor Day, as well.

Fuel is cheapest at the few marinas/fuel docks right before you go under the Sandy Hook Bridge.

Channel Club is a nickel more give or take but the dock doesn't have strong current to deal with.

Yesterday diesel was $2.48 gal. at CCM.

The river is marked well, don't worry.

Just got a call from them, we have a slip. See you all then!

From my first time going there...after Seabright as you get to a "Sedge Island", THIS is where you want to stop following the channel markers for the Shrewsbury river. I did this (went west) and ended up in very skinny water...I could see the CC but not get there.

Luckily a man in a kayak (who I later found out had a boat at the Atlantis next door) took pity on this tourist and literally guided us in via kyak over the marsh land.

Don't do what I did, Instead, at Sedge Island, bear left (east) and hug the shore.

Do keep in mind depending on your clearance there is one bridge you may need open.

Good point, Seabright bridge, clearance is 13'.

Last year, cheapest diesel was right at the mouth of the river, on your starboard side.

How often does that bridge open?

Depends on the tide. Last weekend clearance at high tide was 12'

Weekends and holidays every 30 minutes on the half hour.

If you come down Friday and leave Tuesday it is on demand.

Sounds like a popular destination. I also have a reservation for Labor Day. They had some navigating directions on the contract. I tried to cut and paste but i could not get it. I will see if I can figure out but if anubody else has the document and can do it, that would be great.

Must go in high tide. I banged my props right where the local Markers start to the marina, about a 1/4 of a mile before the marina and i was right behind Victoria Secret.

Thanks but just had to cancel the trip. Maybe I can get there before end of season. Btw, anyone who was on the waiting list should call because mine is now available.

Alan did you fit under bridge at high tide?

Mike,
I too will be there labor day weekend, look forward to seeing you.

What tide location do you look at for Channel Club?
Never thought about the tide going in, no issues last year.

I am looking at Long Branch Reach, Shrewsbury river.

High tide Friday 9/4 is 3:31 PM.

I was supposed to be heading there in the morning but due to the weather we canceled our plans. I very disappointed not sure what I'm going to do this weekend now.
