I was supposed to be heading there in the morning but due to the weather we canceled our plans. I very disappointed not sure what I'm going to do this weekend now.

You should have gone. A little rain didn't stop Eyal

What tide location do you look at for Channel Club?
Never thought about the tide going in, no issues last year.

I am looking at Long Branch Reach, Shrewsbury river.

High tide Friday 9/4 is 3:31 PM.

Yes,

Long Branch Reach

Being they changed the forecast we changed our plan as well. We're at at Channel Club after all. They had same sort of private party near the marina with band planning all day and into the night. Heading to the beach in a few.

Channel club is such a easy run for you Hudson guys.
Barely any ocean if you consider Ambrose ocean.
Weather guys got today wrong but I am fixing things on my boat today.

The run from the Verrazano to the mouth of the river can either be glass, or heavy seas. I've done it in both.

Dave, glad you decided to go, have fun

So what's the deal with the tide?
Any local knowledge.
Last time we went we didn't think about tides.
Are we saying we need to now?

How much water do you draw? How high is your boat?

I draft 42". I am like 17' bridge. We will definitely need bridge open. We did last time.

It looks like I will be leaving with a fairly low tide today not my first choice but the timing is such that I don't have much choice.

Let us know how it is.
Last year they were dredging when we were there and we had no issues.

We stayed until 1:30 which allowed the tide to come up plenty, we did this not out of fear but we were having a good time and didn't want to leave. We had no problems at any point in the trip. It was a great weekend I'm very happy we decided to go! We I grow up I want to be a weatherman clearly the get paid well to guess at the weather, I think I can look out the window and do as good a job!

Quick Question: how is the channel marked once you pass Sledge Island? Are they day markers ( telephone poles ) or local bouys ( small plastic ones )?

Thanks

I think it's small floating buoys.
When you leaving?
We have two groups leaving from anchorage.
One Friday morning and one Friday evening.
If you want to follow us, let me know.

The channel is clearly marked. You don't have to worry about water. I draw 5'6" snd have never had a problem with water under the boat in any of the channels.

Wow 5'6" that's good to know I not sure how so many people seem to bump.
