OK, the new to me boat is gross dirty. It needs a good cleaning top to bottom. My question is this, is it accpetable to do the cleaning in the slip?

This is assuming, of course, the use of biodegradeable cleanign product, such as simple green, and no toxic stuff at all. I have never had a boat in a slip and do not want to commit a faux pas(sp).

ANy advice would be helpful. I am aware, of course, that I could haul it and clean it, but would rather do the work in the water.

In my marina it is standard practice - somebody is always washing, compounding, waxing, etc. But, check with your marina. They will tell you what's acceptable and what isn't.

Not a problem, but stay away from simple green. It will eat up aluminum parts. Get a good boat soap.
