My Plasteak is looking a little grungy. What is the best way to clean? Do they make a special cleaner? Not sure what brand it is as it was on the boat when I bought it. Thanks.

Sandpaper. I lightly sand mine. Try not to sand the black.
It looks awesome after sanding and if you do it all it will be a few shades lighter.
If you just sand spots it will look spotty the it quickly turns uniform after a few days.
Orange spray from $1 store works pretty good too.
But sanding is best.

Mine too is grungy, when you do yours, let me know :)

Sanding sounds harsh for routine cleaning! I can understand sanding to remove a stain or scuff but just to clean there must be a cleaner that does the trick.

I went to their site for info this quote stands out "Never stain, sand, or paint again with a PlasTEAK deck" I hope this helps.

Care and Maintenance of PlasTEAK Decking Lumber Carefree Maintenance with PlasTEAK Decking
Never stain, sand, or paint again with a PlasTEAK deck, dock, or porch. Once your project is installed, it is set for a lifetime of carefree enjoyment. If PlasTEAK gets dirty, a quick hose or mop is all it needs. No special chemicals or sealants required. PlasTEAK plastic lumber can even stand up to pressure washing for a thorough, like new clean.
#61623; Hose or sweep off periodically. #61623; High humidity or low circulation installations may require a periodic low dose bleach wash. #61623; Sweep snow off of the deck with a stiff-bristled broom. If heavier snows occur, a plastic shovel should be used to prevent scratching and gouging. #61623; Unlike wood or composite decking material, mold or fungi cannot penetrate and permanently stain the PlasTEAK surface. A good blast with a pressure washer is all that is normally needed to keep your deck clean. #61623; Cleaning of light surface marks can be accomplished with a solution of Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) and water as directed on the package #61623; Stubborn stains, such as rust spots from furniture, can be removed using products such as “IRON OUT®”, without causing any damage to your deck.

Dave-Walt,
I have a pressure washer. I will bring it down and try mine
then we do yours.

Walter did his with power washer. Didn't work great.
I stand by lightly sanding.
I do it in the spring then I spot sand when dog scratches it.
I have flexiteek.
Plasdeck also can be sanded and they recommend it to me when I had that on other boat.
Try a small spot and you will be surprised.

It's like when you wash your neck. Then you rub hard with a damp washcloth and little bits of more dirt come off.
Your basically removing a small layer of skin.
Can try something less abrasive if you want but the dirt is embedded in surface layer.

Going to wait until after the 4th as I have a crew coming out but thanks. Btw, I tried to get some wax off yesterday and used a magic eraser but stopped because it was changing the color. I suspect that it was all the dirt coming off but didn't have the time to confirm.

Hank do you have an electric power washer? It's worth a try as a first attempt it would be quick and easy. My power washer died last year I'm sure someone on the dock has one you could borrow.

Dave what grit sandpaper do you use?
