Got a little energetic yesterday & started cleaning (by hand) the SS Railing. I used the Collinite #850 wax. It really did a nice job on removing the Winter's Salt Deposits from the railing. Leaves a tough coat of was & a great shine. It looks as good as new. Another few days & I'll have all the Stainless Steel on the boat done. It really makes a big difference.

If you have any energy left over, come on down!!!!

Just curious. Why not Flitz and a Flitz ball?

I never tried the Flitz? Have you ever used the Collinite to compare the two? Collinite goes on pretty easy. Rub it around a little & wipe it off BEFORE it dries. Not too hard to use. Hows Flitz used & does it last? I can use some help too?

Flitz dot com

Even better (to me) is Wenol. Wenol dot com is weak. Google Wenol.

Wenol is very expensive, about 12 dollars for a 100ml tube. However, I am on the same tube I bought 8 years ago. I would venture to guess the railings on a boat your size could be done with 3-4 "glops" each about the size of a pea.

It's like jewelers rouge but less invasive. Flitz does not dry like Collonite. The best thing is the Flitz ball. It is a lot of felt strips attached to a central core. The assembly attaches to your drill. It is like polishing at 1800 rpm's.

I got a lot of stainless on my boat. I've tried all kinds of stuff. A detailer in So FL turned me on to the Collinite and I've been a believer ever since. This is a guy who maintains a lot of high end boats. He gave this product the ultimate endorsement of his profession: "Dude, I gotta a lotta work to do already; why keep doing the effin' metal every time if I don't have to?" At 10 bucks a bottle that seems to last forever, hard to argue with that! He's right, too.

I prefer Collinite, since it is more fluid and less paste. I use an old pair of tube socks, and one for application, and the other hand for removal.

Finished all the railings & exterior Stainless today. The whole job took 7 hours. I remember why I usually hire a cleaning crew :)

Shelia Shine, should be available at Boat Fix or Worst Marine. You can do all your SS in a couple of hours without a lot of rubbing. Used a lot in South Florida.
