Cleaning Up Crappy Plexi-Glass

I've got a Bomar hatch with a plexiglass window. The plexiglass is 25 years old and stained and crappy looking.

Any ideas on how to clean it up?

I tried the Flix ball trick and it didn't do anything except clean the parts that weren't stained.

replace it ? Lexan / plexi glass is cheap...

there are some products made to clean and restore plexiglass windhsield, it works well in removing minor scratches... i used that a long time ago on a plane. it's also sold in marine store, it's two step deal

Flitz and the ball on a drill worked pretty good on our 30 year old hatch.

First try Meguiars PlastX - get it at a local auto parts store. If that doesnt do it then move to 3M Finesse-It followed by PlastX. If that doesn't do it then the best bet it probably wet sanding moving through to at lest 2000 grit followed by Finesse-It and PlastX.

If you go the machine polishing route, just keep it slow (electric drill with polishing bonnet works well here), keep it moving, and don't let it get dry - you can mist with water as you go.

While I've got your attention...

One of my rear plexiglass windows had a large sticker on it apparently. I say that because the previous owner pulled it off and left ancient glue on the window. Is there a way to clean that off without butching up the window?
