I have a 2005 Sea Ray 32, Sundancer. Roller and track on cockpit door destroyed and need replacing. I'm being told helm needs to be lifted up to repair door. Marine Max wants 1000 to do job. Would like to do it myself, but messing with helm has me thinking twice. Anyone have experience doing this? How difficult is it? Any insight would help

Try boatoutfitters(dot)com for the hardware.

Pix would help regarding the door removal.

if your door recess's under the helm as many do, this is not an easy job to lift and r/r the rollers/track. having seen it done on my own boat, I would not try this at home. once the helm is safely out of the way, the track roller part is easy.

I promise you, the parts will be incidental. Big job, I'm surprised a grand in labor, I figured more. Get a can of silicone spray and keep it lubed up. :-)
