The inside liner of our cabin is separating from the fiberglass on the ceiling. Not exactly sure what it's made of, some sort of vinyl with padding. Also the seam edge combing, which hides the seams (where the ceiling meets the wall) has separated in a few spots. Any thoughts of a good adhesive? Thanks!

The headliner will probably go back on with 3M Super 77 spray adhesive. The trim probably some contact cement. I've used the "Car Goop" brand for rubber weather seal and it works pretty good.

Thanks Rick. Since the liner is a continous sheet, the spray might work good as compared to trying to glop-on (new word), and even out some type of adhesive from a tube. I will have to think of a way to prop up the liner while it dries. Perhaps some plywood with a board or two.

Most of the "vinyl on foam" headliner mfgs have a recommended adhesive. Check the appropriate website. This is usually a contact-type adhesive that is designed to not dissolve their foam. Use exactly as directed, as this type of adhesive usually has very specific usage considerations ( on open time and temp/humidity etc )I've done a couple and the suggested stuff worked well. YMMV.

3M super spray is the best I have ever used. Hold in place 3-5 mins and it holds

That is why you use "contact adhesive". Spray both surfaces, wait the prescribed time, then put it in place. Note that putting it in the right place on the first try is rather important... ;) No clamping required ( or desired ).

if the foam has deteriorated to the point it is separating I doubt you can just glue it back on without it looking terrible. An new liner may be possible from an auto shop familiar with working on foam backed vinyl.

The contact adhesive worked perfectly. Needed to give it some hold pressure with the hands, but only for a few minutes. The foam separated from the fiberglass ceiling, and not the vinyl backing. Thanks!
