Correct oil for Mercruser tilt and trim

Does anyone know off hand the correct oil for the tilt/trim unit for a 5 liter 250 HP IO vintage 2000?
Would low oil cause unit to not run the pump in tilt up but run in tilt down?
Boat was not used last year, worked OK when launched, not OK now.

5 -30 works fine if the trailer function works then wiring and solenoids are ok.Trim up is controlled by the trim limit switxch on the housing. Most times it corroded .Can test it by jumping the blue and purple wires at the trim pump.

I always used straight 30. As Bt Doctur said, I suspect your limit switch is the culprit. Even though I was having no problems I replaced mine when I replaced the bellows and gimbal bearing as part of preventive maintenance.

Trailer function does not work either, no noise when pushing switch.
Today I stopped at local marine store and they recommended Quicksilver Power trim and steering fluid. Upon arriving home I read the $10+ dollar bottle, it says it is intended for systems where atf is recommended. Not intended for systems where 0-30 oil recommended.
Don't know what is in my system.
I did put my finger in the reservoir and found that the oil in there is very thin and has a slight yellow color. Certainly not red.

go to the solenoids at the pump and using a jumper from the battery touch the large blue wire . pump should run and go up.
If yes, touch the small blue wire on the solenoid, motor should run. If not the solenoid connection is a bit corroded or the solenoid went bad or there is corrosion on the buss bar between the solenoids
