Got to the new marina where our boat is dry stored and found the whole fore deck, cockpit cover, and swim platform covered in cottonwood tree seeds and sap. The stuff is just NASTY!!!! Any suggestions on how to get this stuff off my gelcoat? Obviously a lot of elbow grease but there has got to be a product that will help remove this stuff without having to kill myself and won't damage the gelcoat.

rubbing alchol on the gel. that may work to on the canvas. is it still soft or hard?

Good luck, we cut down the Cottonwoods at the yacht club 2 years ago, they were a royal PITA. I used acetone on the gelcot, only thing I found that would remove it after it set in the sun a while. As far as the canvas & isenglass, I think your SOL, I could not find anything to remove without damage. Tried about everything on my old canvas & isenglass when I had it replaced with no success.
