Countdown, T - 0! It's here, It's here!

New carpet in the salon installed
Installed an AC outlet in the cockpit.
Replaced my dripless seals (WTF they driped after 4 seasons)
Bottom to be painted soon (another WTF, we can't paint our bottoms anymore)
Installed all new zincs (except for the bow and stern thruster, still waiting for those)
Cover comes off this weekend and will wax the hull.
New Hardtop to be installed next weeek.
New enclosure to follow.

I am close to being ready, let the fun start...:)
Boat to be launched April 19th.

Legally you can still paint your boats bottom and Legally I can still paint mine but we can't help each other without a license. If your yard will not let you paint your own bottom then they are saying that to line their own pockets. Don't let them try and tell you that it's the law because it is NOT! You must have a pesticide license to bottom paint anyone's boat BUT your own.

Damn greedy marina owners!!!!!

You missed it. Did the first one a few weeks ago!

Aren't you going to bottom paint this year?

When I got to my boat this morning Crystal was scrubbing the dock and fingers with a stiff broom and river water. At least the piles of crap are gone. Kinda felt sorry for Crystal though. I thought they could find someone else to do that.

Is she learning from the ways of Mary Lou??????

As the dockmaster she needs to learn to delegate more!

Thats a good one. They dont hire anyone until the kids are out of school for the summer. They should have someone though to do that stuff.

Rommer, while I understand where you are coming from, if I ran a marina, I'm not sure I'd let everyone paint their own bottoms. The main reason - most of us at the CYC paint their own bottoms and too frequently people leave brushes, cans, etc laying around...it's frigging frustrating. You are correct though, there's no law against it.

Aren't there a number of yard hands at Haverstraw? (Not sure what they are called so forgive me if I used the wrong term) I see at least 3 or 4 of the same faces that work outside and fix things on the docks, etc. Seems like maybe they need to hire more if they don't have enough. Sure they are busy launching boats but that shouldn't mean maintenance tasks should go to pot.

Remember you pay an approx. 30-40% premium to slip your boat at Haverstraw compared to other marinas in the area. Expecting clean docks doesn't seem out of line to me.

Hey Now;

Don't stop those guys from launching my boat. Once that is done they can be on bird sh** clean-up all spring, but let's get our priorities straight!

I wonder if because Haverstraw's season doesn't official start until May 1st that cleaning the docks has been pushed aside to get other things done.

Just a thought.

Could be Leigh but there are a number of winter season people that would like clean docks as well. No problems around my boat but seems others are not so fortunate.

Three cheers for Crystal taking the bull by the horns and getting the job done. Something tells me that washing bird crap is probably not in her job description!

The west end of blue docks are still a mess, but nobody is in yet at that end so I suspect that they will stay that way for awhile. Really low tide this afternoon. The peninsula side of the main dock behind the new 50' slips was sitting in the mud. I gotta believe that the rudders of those boats are at least touching bottom when the tide gets that low.

John, The Tide was the lowest I have seen in years. The Northern wind really kept it out. The Caryl-d was sitting just about on dry land again. She sat in the mud for awhile...Southern winds today so all the water should be back...

Well I have not said it yet today so I will say it here...

MY BOAT IS IN THE WATER!

Sorry guys, I just had to get it out of my system...

About time Butch! Some of us have been in for like ever! ;)

Looks like we are going to try and do the weekend on the boat. at least Saturday and Sunday. Hope to move to the summer home as well.

When are you getting in Butch? How about you Mike? You need to be in so they have someplace to put me..next to the big red boat! Hopefully they will put me out on C dock again. Can't wait to see how much time I can squeeze out of Steve this year before he "reminds" us we slip at Haverstraw!

Butch is in, I'm waiting for the marina to splash me, Steve is working on getting me in.
