Crusing around Manhattan Friday just before dusk... a plank took out my trim tab, really messed up the props, and made my bilge pump work overtime that night. The guys over at PennyBridge are taking care of it. They are a great crew up there. From the land, it looked like everyone was having fun on the water this weekend.

Sorry to hear about that. Glad it is getting repaired quickly. It's a constant battle on the Hudson and I am sure I will get mine at some point as well.

Only 2 types of boaters on the Hudson, those that have hit debris and those that will.

Bad news. Some of that debris was darn ugly and we found it! We thumped a railroad tie that was laying under the surface. WHUMP! It scared the buhjeezus out of us but we were lucky in that when I throttled up there were no vibrations and no water coming in the bilge. But then we were only doing 10 knots at the time.
I guess we'll find out if it had spikes in the Fall but I didn't notice any grinding, scratching or digging in the fiberglass noises.

that's good news. where you in the east river? i had some vibrations, so i knew the props were done. but what was really concerning was the water coming into the bilge. we didn't see it until we were in the slip. the pressure was pushing it through three/four screw holes that held the trim tab in place.

Tony we were on the Hudson near the GW coming home from RedBank NJ to Newburgh where we stopped for the nite.

A friend of mine whacked his new (for him) Sea Ray 300 on its maiden voyage back up the Hudson on Friday. $600 and two props later he was back on the water. Happened off Lower Manhattan...

Sounds like a nice trip from Redbank (without dodging railroad ties). Last week we were starting to plan a trip to the channel club, or in that area for this weekend. But we are going to get the boat back too late to prepare. Probably just float around in croton.

We hit the channl club also, and that was where I got a close up look at some of Gioiasails work. Top Notch.

Tony,
They are a fine bunch here at penny bridge. You got yourself a nice boat there. The people that owned it prior to you where a nice couple. We where there when you came in to be pulled. In fact we pulled up to the service dock after they pulled you to pump out. Wish we had known you where a boatered boater, would have stopped for a quick chat. Im sure they will get youn back in soon...

Butch,
Thanks. I couldn't be happier with the boat, Tom kept it in amazing shape. Yeah, I remember the gov sign. I had some time to walk around the marina while I was waiting for a ride. Great atmosphere, people, facilities, and location. I'll stop by "B" dock when they put me back in.

Hi Jeff, (Rugger8)

No debris for you until you get your windscreen fixed!! Only one major problem at a time here okay? Did you get the parts yet?

No Joe, not yet, going on 2 months and still no windscreen. I think I am going to repost here to see what everyone thinks now. To me this is completly unacceptable.

Hi Jeff,

Yes, I would repost on the ROF and see if anyone has any additional suggestions or contacts at Regal..

Is it Regal, or the Dealer? It seemed to me your Dealer was doing well for you.. so I'm guessing Regal, or their supplier.

I'm guessing the Windshield had to be ordered and is being shipped up on the next boat due the dealer. Regal does that to cut shipping costs on larger awkward to ship items.

What does the dealer say?

Took a high tide ride late afternoon yesterday to Hudson and back to Roundout. Water barely had a ripple on it north of K/R bridge. And debris was minimal the entire length with the exception of a 20 ft length of a cedar tree around West Camp. So far this year have noticed far less junk floating than last. As well as far fewer boats out there. We're mid season and you think there would be far more boats. Not complaining but kinda curious why?

Have you visited a gas dock lately or do you row?
