Diver for Bottom Cleaning

Anyone know of a good diver in the Cape Coral or Ft. Myers area for bottom cleaning?

Also what should I expect to pay? We are in brackish water. Lots of clams but very few Barnacles.

While on this discussion, what do they do while down there? What do they use on the bottom to clean it? Power items, scrubbing by hand? I am actually asking this because I am thinking of trying this here in the Cincinnati area. Of course the fresh water situation is different from brackish but I am sure the cleaning process is similar. Thanks

While your diver is down, they should check for growth on thru hulls, the condition of all anodes, for hard growth on running gear, the condition of bottom paint, and clean the bottom. When cleaning the bottom on a regular basis, they should use a soft turkish towel, never a brush. The brush will scratch through the bottom paint quicker and the scratches in the paint open it to growth. The only thing they should be having to remove regularly is soft growth(slime) and even that will be reduced with the newer anti-slime bottom paints.

With the lack of visibility in the Ohio river, inspection is left to a "by touch" method. You really can't see anything until you touch your mask to it and even then the vis is bad. Maybe I should be looking more along the lines of recovery versus cleaning. Sorry to steal the thread. Thanks!
