If you want another destination, bring your dinghy or small boat to the guest dock at CYC, north of the clubhouse. Walk over the foot bridge and there are two popular restaurants. "The Tavern at Croton Landing" and the "Ocean House".

The tavern is a pub/grill place with nice food. The pizza is very good as are the wings and salads...heck everything I've had there is good.

Ocean House is a great seafood place but small so it's tough to get a table, no reservations. You can check in / put your name on a list then go next door to the tavern and wait. Ocean house has no liquor license so bring your own wine.

Anyone can tie up at CYC guest docks. You don't HAVE to check in with anyone as we don't have a harbor master or even a bartender on staff. If you want to be polite, check to see if anyone is in the club house and if so, let them know your intentions...we appreciate stuff like that. Or what I would do is leave a note on my boat with cell phone number just in case. Also, if possible, do not use the side of the dock used by those launching and retrieving boats.

When at restaurant, please mention you used the docks at CYC, one owner is a member, the other is very familiar with us.

Unfortunately, our liquor license says CYC is a private club for members and guests only so we are not officially open to the public but be my guest.

Any time you want, so long as YOU are paying for us.

I agree great idea. Maybe we can add more information about each place. Especially docking info such as draft, capacity, etc.

The biggest problem I have with going to any of these restaurants is finding a spot to tie up. For that reason, I don't even bother. There is nothing more annoying then cruising for an hour and having to turn around because they can't accommodate you. The only one that is usually not a problem is Haverstraw because of the quantity of restaurant slips. Of course, no need to untie to go there. I do however take the dink sometimes to avoid walking up the dock.

Well...I'm not a wealthy man like you. I dont have the luxury of owning a second boat so I can run around when I hget the urge.

Mwhaaaaahhaaaaaa....MWhaaahhaaaa. One Biiiiiillllion dollars. Remember that from vacation?

Mike,
Good info especially for us whom are not familiar with the area, maybe you want to make this post a "sticky".

Maybe we can meet in one of these restaurants before the season start for lunch or dinner? I know some don't like big raft ups, gen sets working, cigars, naked woman and other stuff but I thought it would be nice to start the season... :-) yes?

FYI - Two cooks from The Tavern at Croton Landing are taking over the Hudson Bistro aka Another Point of View.
"Ralph and Daves" is hoping to open in May. I know both of them from the Tavern and around town and their food is excellent...Dave also specializes in fresh pies so I'm sure he'll bring that skill to his own place.

They plan on serving steak and seafood.

The Tavern is still an awesome place to go. You can dock at Croton Yacht Club guest dock (north side of building) and walk over the foot bridge. It's next to the Ocean House, an exceptional seafood place. Both are on North Riverside Avenue in Croton on Hudson.

Best of luck to Ralph and Dave!!! Hope to see you once by land and at least twice by sea!

Oh and rumor has it Westerly Marina in Ossining will is in talks with someone looking to rent a building on their property for a "Micro Brewery Restaurant". Current status according to rumor is the owners are trying to raise funds.

My understanding is, This is in addition to The Boathouse.

I will post more information as I hear from my Ossining friends.

Very interesting Walshie. I don't think the boat house has anything to do with Westerly. good to hear about more options.

Since HOGAN updated the list....a friendly reminder... you are welcome to use the guest dock at the Croton Yacht Club to visit the Ocean House or Tavern. Use the foot bridge over the highway and train tracks. The dock is on the north side of our club house. Please tie-up where you don't block people from launching. If anyone asks, tell them where you are headed, it's cool. If I am around, which I usually am, lets have a beer together!
