Dull Paint

I painted the stripe just below the rub rail. It looks better than it did but just doesn't have the shine. I used a roller and brush. I used interlux brightsides. What did I do wrong. How do it get the paint to look shiny.
 
You can wet sand it or buff it out with rubbing compound.
 
Briam, Interlux brightside is a high gloss finish. I have used it several times and most people think it is new gelcoat. Did you apply it yourself? If so, you probably applyed it under unfavorable conditions. For example, high hunidity, or painting too late in the day with the coating subjected to moist warm air will cause the paint to cure improperly and flat. (low shine) Did you use the proper primer coat? How many coats of primer and brightside did you apply? Jim
