I watched a boating show on TV tonite, from down in Florida.
He was doing a rebuild of a Deckboat.

He did a good job of showing how to do it. Talked pretty plainly about what products he used and why.
Good movie.

I wonder if you guys know of any others like that. Maybe something I can rent.
I dont have a reason for this. I just like watching for the information.

I've got the west system vids and the Devlin stitch and glue boatbuilding dvd but am always looking for more. We'd never see show's like that up here in the great frozen north so if you find any let me know. Thanks.

Look at Tap Plastics site (tapplastics.com), click the Shop tab, then under Fiberglass on the left click the Books&DVDs link. Plenty to choose from.

OK guys thanks!
Mike your correct about the Cost. A friend of mine made a Moose hunting Video right around Anchorage and it cost nearly $8500.

I'll mark them when I get home.

Pete,
I sure wish you told me about those DVD's 20 years ago.

Charlie, if I'd known about DVDs even being invented 20 years ago I wouldn't have to think about
doing my own 'glass work!!

Tripped over that web site a couple of weeks ago. I suspect I will have to order a few.

Pete

Anyone have any copies they would be willing to share. An upload to rapidshare and then share the link would be perfect.Dummies like me need all the help we can get as cheap as possible. Also everyone loves freebies!

Thanx

Hey those are neat. How much simple life would have been if you could watch an expert do something before screwing it up three times trying to figure it out.
All the stuff Charlie spent decades learning can be had for a few bucks on DVDs. Now if only they had a DVD of brain surgery for mad cow

Now days you can do a search on youtube for help and a demo.

yes youtube is good but it is only small segments mostly.A full dvd showing you the ins and outs would be excellent. For us dummies who spend their pension check on boats that need rebuilding we need all the best information possible for as little as possible. If anyone could PM me with helpful info on dvd it would be great.

Thanx

Well, that would be a copyright violation if they are commercial DVDs so I don't think that's such a good idea.

Since we've already been told how much it can cost to produce a DVD, we should really pay the price and let the author make a little profit. That way, he may make some more.

there are some pretty cheaply made videos on youtube some with just webcams.Thought someone may have made a home version of fiberglass techniques like that which was full of info and not just 5 mins long. No problem though sometimes you just gotta take what you can get and learn from your mistakes.

Thanx
