Hi there Hudson Valley-ites. With boating season just around the corner, and a lot of questions as to just how good a season its going to be, perhaps some of you would like to get away and come spend some time indoors at the boat show in Queensbury this weekend.

I'll be there as a volunteer, supporting the Eastern NY Marine Trades Assn which is also a member of the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County (the one I run). Last year the Hudson Valley Marine Trades was also represented as Gabe Capobianchi from Precision Propeller was an exhibitor.

Admission is $8, children under 12 are free. Its not the biggest show around, but it is a good one. So please consider coming up if you'd like to get away. On the way up, stop at the Exit 9 Rest Area information center on the I87 Northway, which is now administrated by the Chamber as well. There's a lot of information on upstate venues as well as Boating on the Hudson and NY By Rail Magazines, and other stuff. And of course that is all free too.

I miss you guys/gals! Come visit me sometime :)

Hey just an update - I put a bunch of $2 off admission coupons at the above mentioned Exit 9 Rest Area Info Center, so if you're on the way to the Show stop and pick up a couple so you can save a few bucks. You'll need every penny you can get to afford the boats LOL...

FYI I've updated my blog at the Times Union with some commentary and pics of the Boat Show, in case anyone is interested... I particularly enjoyed talking to the inventors of the Solar Powered Pontoon Boat, made in Rome NY.

Hey Pete, me and the kids are heading up this morning, will look to say hello if we can find you.

Thanks Allen! So far, so good. Its a hike upstate, but I thought maybe a few people would like something to "get away" to for a day. Figure on about 2.5 hours north of Poughkeepsie. Of course the ski areas are right down the street so maybe someone wants to ski today and come to the Show tomorrow!

Hi Bob! Looks like we posted at the same time. Please do look for me...

Pete, it was nice meeting you and your son at the show, glad we got the chance to chat for a bit.
The kids and wife enjoyed seeing our picture on your blog, thanks.

Likewise, Bob! It was fun - glad you enjoyed the photo. Its always fun to share those real time experiences with our friends and the general public. Hopefully it will get people excited about boating again this year!

Gotta check out that Davidson Brothers place!
