Just an FYI I wanted to pass along...the Harbor Freight website has two polishers, a $29 and a $49. Thinking the $49 was still a good bargain, I went for it. Unlike the $29 unit, the $49 unit has up and down buttons for the rpms (with digital read-out), increasing at 100 rpm increments, with 1000 as the starting point. There is no trigger, just an on/off slide switch, so you control the rpms with the buttons. Kind of strange to me, but I guess better rpm control.

Just used to pulling a trigger!

I would have sold you mine!!! Bought one 2 years ago and tried using it a few times. It is just too darn heavy to use for extended periods of time. Makes a good door stop now...

Yes, it does seem a bit heavy. I am a once a year polisher, so hopefully it won't be more than an exhilarating workout.

I've tried the $29 Harbor freight version... it is a little unwieldy with the handle set up which doesn't allow you into tighter spots. It also has somewhat of a 'curved' pad.

I would opt for the $49 version. I use a vector, which is very similar.
