HM Party

Ahh, gottcha. I killed a tarantula on my boat yesterday! But it most likely came along for the ride from my house. I don't think the spiders at PBM are much worse than they were at Haverstraw, in some cases a little better. We don't have those pole things that go over the dock at PB. I used to find that spiders loved to make webs on those things and when you walked through them, especially at night you'd be covered in them. At least that's how it was on the north end of green dock. And I was always cleaning spider poop. But I was in a much less traveled area when I was in green 119, down by the sailboats, a very very quiet area. Maybe the rest of the marina was too busy/loud for them so they congregated by us. :)

Sometimes I miss that slip. Was there a very long time and had a blast sailing. Nothing like it when you turn off that engine & go under sail. It's a wonderful peaceful boating experience. I especially miss my full size finger! The finger at my PB slip is much too short for my boat. That's really the only thing I don't like about my move to PB.

I think the spiders don't like the metal docks they get too hot and there are no bugs living in the wood for them to catch and eat.

That would make sense but I was on grey, red and green docks and gotta say there were plenty of spiders, there is really very little difference between the amount of spiders I had at Haverstraw & what I have now at PB. The mosquitos are much less at PB though for some reason. Maybe because I was directly across from the peninsula or maybe because the water was so calm and inviting.

I had my share of spiders when I was in Stony Point! They all seemed to jump ship when I moved. I took a while for them to go away but they did. The best I can come up with is the metal docks as you said yourself it makes sense.

Second full season in HM, yet to see any spiders or Mosquitos there are how ever those two little things who make a lot of notice on my boat, I think it called KIDS!!!

Well I am on BLUE and there are none.

No spiders, deep water, live music on the weekends, dock hands.........new fuel dock, nude beach,,OO sorry, I mean new beach, and I have a dog sitter 8 boats away..........

Life is good.... Dock hand brought our food down to our boat on Mothers Day for my wife after she went to the store. Very nice. Another dock hand even came down later to see if we had garbage to throw out. It's like being on vacation every weekend.

We used to take the dock kids out for boat rides sometimes. If you have the opportunity, they appreciate that. They usually make good tips but still, that's a big marina to be walking, walking, walking all day especially in the heat/humidity.
