to first hit my entire boat with Buff Magic using a 7" rotary and then followup with Pro Polish on the 7" rotary? The boat is 32' long.

Just looking for rough estimates... want to know if I can compound the whole thing in one day and polish the next. Boat has mostly moderate oxidation... with some areas qualifying as light oxidation. Nothing I would call heavy oxidation.

Thanks,

Yes you can do it in 2 days.

Just make sure you wake up early!

I'd focus on doing the topside one day with both steps and then the hull next. You will find the hull is an awful lot easier on your boat than the top since its all nice and flat surfaces.

yup, 2 long days. one for top sides and one for the hull.

It took me a day to compound my 30 footer below the rubrails, and another day to polish using a Makita 9227 rotary with wool pads. The boat was blocked up out of the water and I worked the first day until my arms and shoulders couldn't handle it anymore, then waited a couple of days for the pain to subside and spent another day on it. I do it every spring after I uncover the boat, and the effort is worth it.
I've found that on my boat, between the non skid surfaces and all the hardware attached to the boat that I wind up doing the bulk of the topside work by hand.,

Well, like JVM, I was able to compound from the rub rails down today. No polish, just compound. Hopefully tomorrow I will get the polish down and start the top side.
I will say this... I am very impressed with Buff Magic... below my rub rails looks like mirrors.

Back at it tomorrow.

When I was muuuuch younger, I could compound and hand-Simonize a car in one day. Today, I'm older and wiser. It took two days to compound the boat (24' Chapparral cruiser), excluding all the non-slip on deck. It then took me two days to wax the areas I had compounded. The boat's in the water now, but finishing the non-slip is on my list for next week, if the heat breaks. Don't knock yourself out trying to do it all in two days; you'll pay for it later if you do.
