How many coats of polish/wax

I have a 1998 Wellcraft Eclipse - boat is white and does not show any oxidation (at least that I can see)

How many coats of polish is "normal" for spring prep?

How many coats of wax?

Judging from comments on this board on this topic, people get really in to this. For me, I hit my hull, which is also white and shows no oxidation, with a hull cleaner (mild compound) and then a good quality boat wax. I use a rotary buffer and do one application of each. I find that my hull is shinney enough for me and continues to bead water right up until haulout.

You likely have a longer season and may want to apply more wax, or more frequently. But the above works pretty well for me...

If you are using a wax product more won't help and will just be wasted

better to wax more often than to apply extra material the surface will only hold so much
