So, I've been using my dinghy to wax the hull of my boat and have been having a heck of a time holding on to the hull with my hand-held suction contraption. It keeps slipping and falling off. Is there a better way? Or maybe it's because my suction cups have become old and brittle.

In any event, I'm looking for a new product that could keep me steady and hold on while I am applying and buffing the wax, from the rub rail down to the waterline.

Thoughts?

Old and brittle sounds like the issue to me. Otherwise that is what I use and they work and hold just fine.

There are a couple of types out there. Some have a lever you throw to create the suction and some you pump up. Both work but the pump up types seem to create a stronger suction.

Those are the pump up style I was referring to. But they make marine versions that do not rust.

Just remember to work in a manner that waxes after the attachment. Otherwise you wind up with all these vampire suction spots on the hull.

O.K. So thnks for your comments, but other than the Glass Suction Cups, where do I get the marine version? Does Boatfix carry any of these? Thanks again.

I use one of these:

You can get them at homedepotlowes or Target or Walgreens.

They are removable shower grab bars. For $7 or so if they last a year or two I'm happy.

The "removable shower grab bar!" Now, why didn't I think of that??? Thanks.
