Hi Everyone!!

I am new to the forum but it seems I found the right place to get advise and meet new friends!

I'm doing a restoration of the famous 1972 Glastron GT 150 boat that made a world Record Jump over a Louisiana Bayou in the 1973 James Bond Film Live and Let Die

editors note: The boat is NOT the famous 1972 Glastron GT 150... It's the same model only. I deleted the link because it was posted here to attract people to his site and hope for donations. We don't use this forum for that purpose. Besides, I'm personally doing a restoration of the rock that was used in David's slingshot in famous David and Goliath Film. Well, not the actual rock but one that looks like it and can use donations myself. I never realized how expensive it is to restore a rock.
 
Actually a restoration of a boat LIKE the one used in the movie. Not sure why I would want to donate money to this restoration, but heck, somebody might!
 
LOL I am very pleased just to get some ideas from fans of the site. I want this project to really come out great! Any ideas please post them thanks for the reply. But then again whats a dollar for a good guy? lol
 
Same message on the BoatUS forums. They always come out on weekends when they think there are no moderators.

Edit: I am restoring an old Chris Craft. Send me what ever money you have laying around.

I'm restoring MY boat. This is the exact same one I bought a couple years ago. OK guys, dig deep and send it in.
 
It crosses my mind that you could send him your used till abused, old, pieces-parts, assign a value to the donation, then 1099 him. Boy, wouldn't he be surprised! ;)
 
Sounds like a plan. Or else just turn the IRS loose on him now.
 
Asking for donations is a bit tactless. But, the project is not without its merits. It would be neat to see the final product. Lighten up fellas. You may not agree to send him funding, I am not contributing, but all of you may be able to contribute with your expertise. To see a facsimile boat some 30 years later would be kind of neat.

Edit: That is my opinion and I am sticking to it.
 
Bob, the guy has posted this same message on about 30 different forums, including a bunch that have nothing to do with boating. He just registered here yesterday and, despite BIG warnings in the policy statement that he agreed to honor, puts a link in his signature (that I deleted before I approved his registration) and then, in his very first post, includes a link to his web site, yet another policy violation. Yes, he could have probably gotten a lot of good advice here. But he decided to take a different road. Unfortunately, he picked the dead end.

Personally, I don't understand how anyone can justify going on someone else's web site, use their resources, use their traffic that has taken years to build and use their "customers" to promote his own interests.
 
If he's restoring the same one the Mythbusters wrecked he has his work cut out for him...
 
After buying a new boat and the stock market downturn, I am trying to restore my bank account.
Donations gladly accepted.
Donate $100 or more and recieve a 8x10 autographed pic of me drinking a beer on my new boat!

Dave, where do I send my check? Is that a color picture or BW?
