LI Sound Trip

It was but we stayed stopped at Mitchell Park which was right in town. Would stay there over the Brewers on the other side. Sag Marina is great but expensive. $6.50/ fppt plus $40 for electricity. Weather is very shaky. Going to give it a coup,e hours before leaving.

Left Sag Harbor after the rain. Planned on stopping at Port Jeff but it was such a great ride, we kept going and wound up at Liberty Landing. I have never seen the sound so smooth. It was like a lake the entire way.

So which is cheaper Sag or Liberty they are both pricey! I have never been to either as of yet.

I hope to only work a half day tomorrow and head to the boat by early afternoon. Maybe I will see you there.

What a rough day on the water but we are finally in Block. What should have been 4.5 hours took 6.

Glad to hear everyone made it to their destinations safely!
I spent half the day relaxing on my boat. Nice day!

Wow. Heard there were small craft warnings out there today. We left from Sag yesterday and planned on stopping at Port Jeff but the water was so flat, we kept going and stayed the night at Liberty Landing. I never saw it so calm before. Guess it was the right call. I thought about you as I knew you were leaving today. Anyway, you're there safely so enjoy your stay.

Enjoyed a great vacation with everyone at Montauk and Block Island. Caught way too many squid and a fair amount of clams. Dinners were amazing at both ports and our home cooked meals were the best! Time to head out in the morning and stop at Say Brook Point marina.

Wayne it was just one of those days when running at 28 knots just wasn't comfortable so we slowed down.

Our friends ran out to Block on Thursday and like Hank said the sound was a lake. Amazing how things can change in 24 hours or even in an hour sometimes.

All in all we still had a great ride but the 1 to 2 feet they were calling for in the LI sound was WAY off the mark.

Oh and while I'm at it, if anyone knows how to turn on the sun and turn off the wind out here it would be appreciated!

IMPORTANT NOTE: for those people that hang their clams off the boat in Champlins, be warned, the guy behind me was macerating, out the side of his boat, ABOVE THE WATER LINE so there was NO mistaking what he was doing. Un-fricken believable what some people will do.

All good things must come to an end! I have a week of work left before I start my cruise, I have not been on a real vacation in years. I guess I better top off my tanks if I'm going to make it to Greece, Italy and Turkey wait that's right Princess will be taking care of the fuel on this trip:) I'm looking forward to turning off my cell phone and being completely out of reach!

You don't have to turn it off. Do what I did at Montauk. Just jump in the pool while its in your pocket. Problem solved. I didn't get another call the entire trip.

Dave the only time I had my cell phone off for an extended period of time was when I was in the hospital last Christmas, some vacation huh...............?
Have a great vacation!
I'm sure you deserve it.
Bill

Thanks Bill! I'm a little uptight about being out of touch but it been a long time and I promised Audrey 5 years ago that for our 25th we would take a real vacation, the time has come!

Hank's story had me laughing. There are easier ways to turn off a cell phone!
There's the little thing they call the "off" button.

We ran through fog (less than 1/2 mile visibility), rain and choppy seas yesterday from Block Island to Old Saybrook.

So far, since last weekend, there has hardly been any sun. Today is another cloudy, humid day.

Heat wave coming. You should have some sunshine to finish your trip. Half mile visibility is pretty good for that trip.
