Mercruiser cool fuel modules

My brother has a 2005 32' SeaRay with Mercruiser GM big block inboards.

The marina is telling not to run the engines as there is very high fuel pressure. Apparently the insides of the cool fuel modules are painted and the paint is now coming off clogging the entire fuel system. I believe there is a TSB on it.

He is being told Mercruiser will cover the parts, no labor.

Has anyone else experienced this and did Mercruiser cover the entire tab?

I am reading other stuff on the net and it sounds like corrosion in the aluminum fuel cooler rather than paint.

Read the TSB three times. Caveat emptor. BTDT. I hate black engines.

My mechanic has told me they will cover labor sometimes. What makes them cover it or not I'm not sure,

I had the same issue with my 2006 6.2 Horizons. It's paint, not corrosion. The underside of the covers are painted and the paint flakes off. For me it started with the screens on the pressure regulators getting clogged. I had to replace the covers and all 16 injectors. Did it the beginning of last season. They blame ethanol for dissolving the paint.
