We are going to have access to a 30ft+ performance powerboat for the week we are going down to the Miami Boat show this year.

I'm looking for good day trip suggestions, overnights (Boat has shorepower-but no genny, for AC/Heat, and a head)

Bars, dinning, marina's, destinations, even sample itinerary would be great. Up to Pompano, and down to Islamorada Key.

This will be 1st time boating in these waters so i'm trying to do as much pre planning as possible. Boat has good electronics and I'm getting paper backups.

Again, any help, pointers, etc would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

February isn't too hot usually so no AC isn't a big dal if the boat has good ventilation.

No name harbor at the tip of key biscayne is nice, there is a restaurant there, nice trails in the park to the cape Florida lighthouse and Crandon beach. Tie up to sea wall during the day, anchor overnight

Boca Chita and eliott key are nice spots in biscayne national park. No facilities though.

Not much in key largo except a few waterfront restaurants, incl Gilbert's tiki bar right by the us 1 bridge.

In islamorada there are a number of things, incl plantation yacht harbor (nice marina, restaurants nearby), Holliday isle and its popular sandbar and at the end of islamorada Indian key, state park, one of th early settlement worth walking thru.

Check out active captain for info on anchorages, etec...

In Key Largo there is Sundowners Restaurant in Blackwater Sound about 1 mile past Gilberts. They have docking. Much quieter than Gilberts and nice outside deck for dining. Gilberts is kind of rowdy for us old folks. On the days we do good fishing we stop at Sundowners to celebrate. There is also Alabama Jacks, before Gilberts by the Card Sound bridge. They also have docking.

+1 on Sundowners. Was there last week, nice place, nice folks, quiet marine and inlet.

Thanks for the input and responses. We are looking forward to kicking of a new location and style of boating. :)
