"Hi All,
The Million Boat Float held this past weekend took a lot of hardwork by a lot of unpaid volunteers. Their only reward would be to bring a voice to the 4 million Californians that live in and around the Delta and hope for National attention. Efforts by the volunteers brought together concerned residents, business people, farmers, boaters, hunters, fishermen, commercial fishermen and their families, Native Americans, conservationists and environmentalists who want a voice in the Delta's future. Delta Stakeholders have been left out of the Delta Vision Process, the Bay Delta Conservation Plan and pending legislation designed to build the Governor's alternate conveyance source (Peripheral Canal).
How do we measure the success of our efforts? The compilation of news coverage below is an excellent indicator. We firmly believe that our outreach before the event and the interest we stirred with the Million Boat Float brought about the flurry of coverage.
We want to thank all of the volunteers and participants for their support in making the Million Boat Float a SUCCESS. A Special Thanks goes out to Captain Larry Collins and his wife Barbara who brought their 46' Commercial Trawler, Autumn Gale, all the way from San Francisco to join us on our journey to Sacramento.
