Newport Rhode Island Marinas.

Eating a 6lb lobster is worse than eating (censored). The older the lobster the tougher the meat, a 6 pound lobster is like eating a 65 year old (censored). 2.5 pounds is the treat, if you need more meat order two of them. The younger the meat, the sweeter the treat.

They were delicious, perfectly cooked, not tough at all. I don't remember any problems cracking the shells.

Walter's problem is that he gets the ones from the polluted, closed shellfishing areas.

If you are military, you could go to the Naval War College.

Brad,

I haven't been to the Newport Harbopr Hotel and Marina for a number of years and alot can change. I remember it as being clean and best of all, cross the street and you are in town.

They have an indoor pool which is not as nice as an outdoor one but better than having none.

Great eats at a number of places within walking distance.

As a follow up to an earlier post, the Newport Harbor Hotel Marina was great. I did get there with the family for Columbus Day weekend. The staff is very helpful and the location is perfect. They were very accomodating and didn't seem to mind wondering the docks while having a cocktail or bringing you own apps and some wine and sitting in their chairs on the lawn overlooking the water. In fact, Friday and Saturday evenings at about 5pm turned into a giant cocktail party on the docks and lawn. But not to loud and quiet by 10pm. Location is also right in the middle of all the action but dock area is secure from general pedestrian traffic.

Have fun, I'll be back next Columbus Day!

Thanks for the information - I just went on Marinas.com and can see the whole layout.

A few slips seemed a little tight, I perfer not to have side docking, I noticed few boats lined up... But done that a bunch of times before, so no big deal. Since we are going mid week, I should get a back in slip.
