Does anyone have a secret formula for cleaning scum off NIBRAL props? Thanks in advance.

I would try a diluted solution of muriatic acid & water (50-50). Spray on, wipe with 3M fiber pad.

i use my angle grinder with a blue cleaning disc. i was using a drill
and used a brass wire wheel which took hours to do both props now it takes 30min to do both.

Like realrez, I use an small angle grinder with blue VERY FINE(VFN) 4 1/2" 3M Scotch-brite hook-it discs and keep it moving without great pressure. Very quick, very shiny. Maybe 15 min for both . Same as the prop shop uses. I apply a couple coats of Collinite Insulator Wax to help keep them gomph-free for a couple/few months U/W.

This what my 17 year old running gear looks like after cleaning with 50/50 muriatic acid & 3M pad.

I do the same. The muratic acid will also work. However it leaves the prop dull looking. (if that matters to you)

If you're on a boat lift, is there a benefit to keepoing them shiny as opposed to dull??

The bottom paint has mostly worn off of mine and I was thinking about cleaning mine up but just not sure of the benefit to effort ratio

RWS.

Shallow water.

Wait, just noticed you're in Maine. Maybe don't try the shallow water thing.

tidybowl cleaner, same acid with a spout on it and easy to find.
