So I picked up some 303 protectant to do my canvas with. Not needing it yet(because I'm waxing the hull) I left it at my vinyl helm seat where I know it wouldn't get stepped on or tripped over.

So after I'm done doing my work tonight I am staightening up and see that the bag with the bottle of 303 is on it's side. As I pick up the bag, I notice and a small amount of 303 has leaked out of the bottle into the bag and onto the seat. I read the label which indicates "contains petroleum distilates, do not apply to vinyl".

Now I'm not sure how long this liquid was on the seat for. The white vinyl seat is not discolored. I wipe up the remaining 303 from the seat as I remembered how much I paid for the stuff.

The big question though is, have I done any damage to the vinyl seat? After I dried the vinyl seat it felt slick, however there is no discoloration. Any advice, recomendations or concerns I should have?

303 High Tech Fabric Guard is what is used on "canvas." 303 Aerospace Protectant is what I use on vinyl, rubber etc.

That I understand. Like I said the bottle tipped over, some of the liquid leaked out of the bottle and on to the vinyl seat. I had not intended to use it on the vinyl seat, I intended to use it on my canvas.

Clean the seat and put vinyl protectant (I like Spray Nine for cleaning vinyl) on it (303's Vinyl Protectant is good). You should be fine.

I use 303 vinyl protectant on my seats all the time. Recommended by the seat manufacture.
