Opinions Pettit Alumaspray

For the last 3-4 years, I've used Interlux Prop & Drive paint on my outdrive, and it seems to do a fairly decent job. This year, I thought I might give Pettit Alumaspray a try. However, I wanted to get some feedback from people who have actually used the Alumaspray before making a switch.

I'm interested in the paints appearance, ease of application and antifouling performance. The boat is wet slipped in salt water for approximately 6 months at a time.

I used the bulk Pettit AlumnaCoat on my last boat with twin I/O that stayed in a salt slip year around. I found that the bulk paint allowed me to apply a much heavier film of paint vs. the spray cans. I made my own spray paint by mixing the AlumnaCoat with 50% paint thinner and pouring into one of the little pressurized spray paint canisters you can buy at Ace Hardware, the spray allowed me to get up into the I/O near the transom where you can not reach with a brush. The bulk is much cheaper than buying $30 cans of aerosol paint.

I was hoping that someone who used both products could give me their opinion as to which product performed better.

I tried the Interlux product in past seasons and I liked the Pettit product much better.

I've been wondering about this too...my boatyard uses the Trilux but it doesn't work the whol season...I might try the Pettit this year...spray Alumaspray for the areas you can't reach with a brush and the Alumacoat for the rest of it...
