I just wanted to let everyone know that Penny Bridge Marina is rebuilding. I heard several comments from people that stopped to check there boats that they were not. We have spent the last 2 days cleaning and its starting to look like a marina again. There are alot of repairs that have to be made but when they are done, it will be better than ever. We have located most of the boats and are now putting them back where they belong. Rick and Steve have come back and have been helping with the recovery. The Penny Bridge family is strong and a storm named Sandy is not going to break it up!

Awesome message of hope!

I wish you all the best.

I love the attitude! Our commodore has been a great leader in this time of need. We too are rebuilding. Spent the last few days up-righting boats. Our commodore sent this message, never heard the saying before:

"When you are going through hell, don't stop, keep going...its the only way out"

Who are the uninformed people making comments like that??? Clearly they do not know Ginny. She was well aware she was going to take a hit and said from the very beginning she would take it as it comes and put it back together when it was over.
Ginny is one of the most resilient people I know. Of course she will rebuild. The option of not doing so was never in the equation.
Silly people. Just like to talk about silly things!!

The fast response put togeather by Ginny, Rick, Steve and the rest of the Pennybridge family sends a very strong and positive message. Our best thoughts remain with all of you.

Dont forget JD, he's been there too.

Well I knew it was comming but I am excited to say Penny Bridge Marina will be turning on the Open sign Monday and start winterizing boats again. The shop is cleaned up, we have been getting our boats back and placed where they belong. The temp office will be set up tomorrow and the doors open Monday. We have alot of rebuilding and there is still alot to be done but the family will not give up. Everyone has pulled together and no storm named Sandy is knocking us out. The offers of help have been incredible and the members of our family have been great. I have seen alot in the last three days, the destruction and total loss of homes, lives and possesions we care about. The people have been great, they cant do enough to help others out. At times like this I am so proud to say that this is america and I am an american.

Glad to hear everything is going as well as can be expected. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Day 4 was just as productive as the last 3 days. We are one more step towards getting back to a working status. The turnout has been great with people wanting to help and offers of assisitance. Mike and Ginny asked that I pass on a big thank you to all that have helped out this week and all of you for the kind words. They helped ease the pain that Sandy did cause. The temp office has arrived and they are now trying to get it set up as a working office. They need to get phones and the computers back on line. Right now the phone is being transferred to Ginnys private cell phone. There is still alot of storm damage being taken care of and this will be going on for quite awhile. There are alot of boats that have to be taken care of from the storm just to get them through the winter. Please dont just come in and drop your boat off without checking with Mike or Ginny first. With the storm cleanup they need the spaces open. Again thanks to everyone for there assistance and co-operation during these hard times.

Butch if they need a hand with setting up the phones and computers let me know that's what I do for a living but if I can help I would be happy to help.

Everyones patience has been great and is making it easier for Ginny and Mike to get a working office and be able to identify the boats so they can give you the most accurate information on your boat and its condition. As I mentioned earlier, phone and computers are down. The marina number is being forwarded to Ginnys private cell. Both Ginny and Mike wanted to thank everyone for all the help they have given, the donations made to make things easier and the patience everyone has had. They have not given up on us and lets not give up on them! Penny Bridge Marina is a strong family and this is only making us stronger.

Good to hear there are still plenty of folks who realize that they need to "just fix it", not wait for a news crew to come so they can get on camera and demand someone needs to come help us now.

I stopped by the marina on my way home tonight and am pleased to say the progress is continuing. They have most of A dock and all of B dock back where they belong. Some of the fingers have been removed for repairs. What is in the water for c and d are temporarily secured. C dock and boats are removed from the wall at MYYC. The office is up and running. The staff has worked non stop for the last week and its really showing. Hard to tell we had so much destruction a week ago.

I was there as they brought the dock back in from MYC. They have done an incredible amount of work in such a short time, and the marina is starting to look more and more like its old self. Mike, Ginny and the rest of the crew are to be congratulated!

PennyBridge is almost back to pre-storm condition. They have all their docks back, they will repair the damage to them over the winter. The yard is cleaned up. They hope to start winter hauling again this week!

Congrats to Ginny, Mike and the PBM staff.

What about those two boats I saw yesterday? How will they pick them up!

We also saw the devastation to the houses on River Rd. going to Haverstraw. I just could not believe what we saw. So sad. I hope that the homeowners have insurance so they can rebuild new homes for them.

The tragedy is that most of the damage is due to flood - unless they have flood insurance, I'm afraid they are SOL. Very sad.
