I need to start thinking about replacing the fuel tanks in my 1985 CT Trawler. She has twin Super 90 Leymans and it appears that there will be no way to replace the tanks without removing both engines. Tanks appear to be iron and have a capacity of 159 gallons each. I not even sure if with the engines removed anyone would be able to take tanks out in one peice. May still have to be cut-up. I really feel like I would be better off with smaller tanks as that would provide more room to service fuel filters, change impellers, etc. and she only burns 3 gallons an hour so two 100 gallon tanks would suffice. I've been on the web looking for write-up's by people who have gone through this sort of work. I was hoping to find information about;
- Who can do it?
- Costs?
- What type of tanks to use?
I've tried Google, Ask and several other searches, does anyone know where I can find information so I can do some preliminary planning and gain enough information to ask the right questions?
