Poli Glow?

I have a 87 Sumerset with heavy oxidation.Has any body ever used this Poli Glow product? Seems to apply to easy and looks to good to be true. I also seen a product on ship shape TV I think it was called Buff Magic.any comments or advice?
 
You will hear from people who both love and hate Poli Glop. Glorified floor wax actually, can look great but like any floor wax it yellows with age.
 
Those two products take opposite approaches: Poli Glow lays on top of an oxidized surface, while Buff Magic is a compound that uses it's abrasive properties and your elbow grease to remove oxidation.

I've never user Poli Glow, but I've heard many accounts of what Rommer described above.

I've used a LOT of Buff Magic. There are plenty of similar products out there, but I've found it to be easy to work with and I've had very good results with it. (although I typically follow up with a finishing compound)
 
You have to get the oxidation off before you apply the Poli-Glow. Used it once. Looks good for awhile then starts to peel off.
 
Just say NO to Poli-Glow...

There are some Poli-Heads out there, but I'm still not convinced for reasons Rommer described as well. I've heard some pretty nasty horror stories on it... Your know what they say... if it sounds to good to be true... well, let the buyer beware. :)
 
you're right Greg, let me clarify: Poli Glow lays on top of a SURFACE that's been oxidized, not on top of the oxidation itself.
 
Thanks everyone.Looks like I'm on the way to gets some Buff Magic. Two questions What do you think about Nu- Finish as a finishing product and what kind of results can I expect compared to new when done?
 
Nu-finish looks pretty good when it is applied and although it doesn't last long it is very easy to use. The problem is, it tends to yellow and it will also stain the gelcoat so that when you decide to do a real wax job it doesn't come out as good as it should.

Nothing beats a good old fashion compound, wax, and polish.
