Here in N. Jersey, power came back on around 6 pm. Things are feeling like they are getting back to normal as they can be.

My power will be on tonight. Took 5 trucks 8+ hours to repair all
the lines on my road. They are just waiting for a huge hemlock to be
cut up so it doesn't end up taking more lines out then they will energize the
lines. Been a crazy haul!! Live wire came down Monday night & caught
the woods in front of my house on fire. Took them almost an hour to kill the line!!
Thank God winds were southeast blowing it away from all of our houses
Northwest would have taken out at least 3 of our homes. Last night a guy came though
the barricade & hit another live wire & his car caught on fire. He barely got out. Have no idea
why that wire was still live!!

If I never hear the sound of a live wire buzzing, or see the arcing & flames of it within 75 ft of me again that will be just fine!!!

Btw...still have not seen much of O&R...I don't know where they are, but the crew that came down from Albany to help out is amazing!!!

I'm still running a borrowed generator. Hope it wont be long now for power to be restored. Most of the streets around me are back up and running.

From your pictures I must of just missed you at the yard how did your boat make out?

My boat was fine - still on stands - the anchor of a neighbor went through the shrink wrap where it covers the swim platform - probably have a scratch or two. Whew! Hope your power goes on soon - it makes a world of difference!

I'm back up now only burned about 10 gallons of fuel not to bad!

Judy - are you on Filors?

Haven't seen ANY electric crew within miles of our home. 4th day on generator and it's getting harder to find gas each day. O&R website says, we are aware of the outage in your area and we are accessing the situation. Third highest rates in the country. Access this O&R, FU!

We ran up to the service station on the NYS Thruway at Ramapo (wouthbound) yesterday for gas - lots of gas and minimal lines. Of course we had to go all the way to Harriman to turn around - but the Wallie Mart and Home Depot were open there - HD was awaiting a shipment of generators.

Judy - How/Where is your boat??

Fourshaw...yes I'm at the top of Filors. It's like a war zone! Everytime I leave
my house I have to navigate between various large trucks.... if I even can. Coming back the
same thing & I have to drive around to figure out which end is passable. Plus I have to ke
moving the roadblocks & when I put them back people in cars trying to get through
start yelling at me because I put the road block back up. They don't want to hear
that live here & I'm only going to my house not all the way through which you
can't do.
This has been quite an adventure!!!

John, I have no idea where O&R is. I have been almost completely around this county
multiple times in the last few days and their trucks are few & far between. I apologize to anyone
on this board who may work for O&R...some of my friends do as well.. but really!!! But John
if you call customer service before 8:00 you will get someone & they will give you details;
what's going on in your area. And the company they brought in from Albany is amazing.

Helen, boat my backyard and honestly I fully expected to lose it. Not from flooding but it
sits under multiple 60/80 foot pine trees. is shrink
wrapped and I threw an extra tarp over it and hoped
for the best. It was untouched and we are floored

Judy - glad to hear. Keep safe! I bet you are glad you didn't make the move to S. Jersey! :>)

OMG!!! Us, my brother/sister in law and a cousin & a friend are all planning to move
together and purchase homes close to one another. We are all now rethinking if we
want to live right on the water or a little more inland like four of my cousins do!! Still only
five minute or so drive to the ocean and they were all safe.
Two of my friends who live on a canal on Osborn Island, our first choice to live, were devastated
beyond belief.

I'm trying to get away from stress not move into worse than I have now!!!
