Evidently, Tom (Tabman) had brain aneurysm and has been hospitalized for nearly two weeks. He frequented quite a few boards offering his trim tab help to anyone who asked. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

I met him with Art, and we knew him as a good man who was proud of the business he was in and the people he worked with. I am hoping this passes and a speedy recovery ensues.

Sorry to hear about that. I knew he posted on a bunch of forums. He always provided great, understandable information for people who did not know how to use trim tabs or information for those needing troubleshooting advice. He also provided parts free of charge even when the warranty expired many, many years ago.

All the best to Tom. So bummed to hear this; he's a great guy. Helped me on the phone on a holiday weekend some time ago.

A good friend to us at the forum.

On the Prayer List.

He certainly has helped a heck of a lot of boaters in the best possible manner as a terrific role model for others in the industry and elsewhere. (Of course there were those reports of the infamous pool parties at Les's house involving Tom but I'm sure they were somewhat exaggerated.)

Very best wishes to Tabman Tom McGow for a full and speedy recovery!

Just found this pic from back in his younger days when he was still just TaborBoy: http://www.taborboy.org/profile/TomMcGow

Sorry to hear this news. I'll definitely be praying for him! As we can tell by the other comments in this topic, he was a wonderful person who sincerely enjoyed helping folks. May angels surround him now!

Tom helped me with numerous e-mail exchanges, followed up by a personal visit at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show in 2003. We ran the data on my boat and increased the length of the tabs and added drop fins.

This made a huge performance difference with the (then) Crusader 454's.

His time spent and personal attention to the detail resulted in the improvement far better than what the factory had.

Subsequently, sharing this information has helped numerous other Trojan 10 Meter owners as well.

Best wishes to Tabman Tom McGow for a full and speedy recovery!

Yes, same here. He helped me correct what the dealership did wrong when they installed the tabs on my previous boat.

I spoke with Tom once seemed like a great helping guy. I hope he has a good outcome.
Speaking of great guys has anyone heard from Vic William lately? Soon after he lost his job at Raritan he visited me at my office. He went on a vacation and I haven't heard from him since. I hope all is well with Vic as well. Has anyone heard from Vic?

Too bad, isn't it, that we must learn of a friend's troubles before we truly begin to appreciate how much they add to our lives. A fine bunch of good guys frequent this forum. Let's make sure we apprecite our good luck.

When I saw the subject line I thought, "That's that fellow Tom at Bennett; even though I have never met him I remembered his name. He helped me with a hydraulic issue and a few years later with a sizing problem. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I have sent email to Bennett with a link to this thread, I will let everyone know what I hear.

Hope all goes well for you Tom and you have a full and speedy recovery.

Perhaps you could sent a link to this thread to Bennett so they will be reminded just how much good will, and subsequently sales, a dedicated employee like Tom generates for a company such as theirs. Or any company for that matter.

Tom, we are thinking of you, praying for you and pulling for you!
